Job Description:

Reporting to the Regional Marketing Director for Asia, the primary responsibility of the Catalogue Development Manager (CDM) will be to create the catalogues for the Asian region (currently Oriflame’s biggest growth area) from layout to print, taking part in all steps of the process. The CDM will merge the creative vision of our client’s global brand positioning, with the needs in the Asian region whilst driving the catalogue selling power and attractiveness of the catalogue as a sales tool.

 

The successful applicant will work with a team of 16 people to continuously improve and work on the catalogue and sales material for Asia from a creative, quality and cost point of view.

 

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

 

  • Catalogue development – The CDM sets the creative direction in line with the Company’s global brand positioning but also focuses on the needs and specificities of the different countries in the region. Managing the creation and production of the catalogue whilst ensuring the quality maintains Oriflame standard and that specified guidelines are followed are also pre-requisites.
  • Local knowledge – Includes close collaboration with local markets and insight into visual communication elements in each market. Support local markets on other print materials.
  • Time plan - Responsible for making time plan for ongoing catalogue production and that deadlines are kept.
  • Global knowledge – Make sure layouts are up to date and corporate guidelines are followed.
  • Print quality – Together with print coordinator ensure that the printing quality of the catalogues is up to Oriflame standard. Follow-up with countries on printing procedures, paper quality etc.
  • Technical – Together with IT ensure that our client has a technical platform to enable efficient work with the catalogues.
  • Photography- Managing regional photo shoots with art directors.
  • Quality check: ensuring high quality in the full production chain from layouts, photographs, retouch, colour proof and print whilst being as cost efficient as possible.
  • Sales Actions and Marketing Support development– Support creation of layouts and ideas for various sales support actions

 

In addition to consolidated previous experience in a similar role, the successful candidate will possess the following Profile:

 

  • Initiative – the candidate should be self motivated and able to motivate others. Able to make decisions and possessing the tenacity to get things done.
  • Leadership- the candidate should set the creative way forward for the full team as well as the tactical way to get there. He/she should be very good at energising others, setting goals and ensuring that all team members know where to go and how to get there.
  • Team player – the candidate should enjoy working both with the team and on their own initiative
  • Communication - the candidate needs to have strong communication skills and be able to “sell” the layouts and work well with others.
  • Project Management – the candidate must have strong planning and organisational skills, be on top of deadlines and lead the production and the team.
  • Technical – the candidate must have an understanding of the graphic industry and graphic programmes, printing and retouch. Be able to find solutions when deadline is tight and if technical problems occur.
